James Williams will contest this year’s Prestone MSA British Rally Championship in a Vauxhall Adam R2 – beginning with tomorrow’s Carlisle-based Pirelli International Rally, held over 80 miles of Kielder forest stages.
The talented 22-year old driver from Newcastle Emlyn drove an Adam on the final round of the British series last year, and had a good shakedown run in it on the Visit Conwy Cambrian Rally earlier this year. Co-driven by Ross Whittock, Williams will contest all six round of the British Rally Championship, the final round of which is Wales Rally GB in October.
The rally project has received title sponsorship from Carmarthen-based engineering firm HT Installations, with additional support from Network Q, Speedline Corse wheels and Pirelli tyres.
“I’d like to give a massive ‘thank you’ to HT Installations for all their continued support,” said Williams. “I wouldn’t have been able to get where I am today without their dedication and belief in me, and with their help I’m feeling confident that 2018 is going to be our best season yet. Hopefully we can transfer that belief into a good result on Saturday and for the rest of the year too. I’m feeling like it’s going to be a massive season for us.”
