Both teams will come into the game on the back of regional derby triumphs over Christmas and the visitors will no doubt have a whiff of revenge in mind after losing out to Cardiff at Judgement Day in the Welsh capital at the end of last season.

Owen led  2-0 and looked on course for a place in the last eight alongside fellow Welshman Gerwyn Price, but Rydz booked his spot in the quarter-finals for the second time in his career with a brilliant comeback.

Grant Bradburn has been dismissed as Glamorgan's head coach with immediate effect, following a recent charge of misconduct brought by the independent Cricket Regulator. The 58-year-old was referred to the regulator by the club after allegations of inappropriate behaviour were made against him.

Leading Welsh trainer Sam Thomas was proud of his two horses’ efforts at the Coral Welsh Grand National even though Val Dancer emerged from the murk to seize victory. Val Dancer tenaciously held off Thomas' dual challenge of Jubilee Express and Iwilldoit at Chepstow to win a race that was only visible at certain stages due to thick fog.
