Martin Olsson will not play against this season handing Swansea City a huge blow.
The left-back has undergone surgery on the left achilles tendon he ruptured at Brentford last weekend.
Olsson now faces a long rehabilitation process that will rule him out until next season.
It is a major blow for Swans boss Graham Potter as the Swedish international was one of the senior players in the squad.
Olsson, who joined from Norwich in January last year, has suffered the same injury which kept Leroy Fer out from February to August this year and which sidelined Nathan Dyer between February and October 2017.
Connor Roberts took his place in the victory at Brentford, but Potter could now turn to Wales international Declan John who is the only recognised senior left-back in the Swansea squad.
Midfielder Matt Grimes has also played there this season.
