I’m A Shore Thing, Says Jack Ahead Of MMA Title Defence In Cardiff

Jack Shore says he is ready to roar for Wales as he defends his world bantamweight title when Cardiff’s Viola Arena stages Cage Warriors 104 on Saturday April 27th.

The Abertillery fighter will face Scottish challenger Scott Malone in the biggest night of MMA in Welsh history.

Shore is just one of seven Welsh fighters who will be in action in just over two weeks time as he defends the title he won in December in what is set to be a sell-out.

“It’s going to be a massive night, the sport is blowing up and it’s great to be part of it and to be a front runner in what feels like Welsh MMA coming into its own,” said the 24-year-old.

“Every contest at CW104 has got a Welsh fighter pushing for a title, so there’s going to be a lot of eyes on it and it’s only going to go in one direction now.

“I’m looking forward to the contest, it’s been a hectic training schedule to prepare but I’m used to it now. I’m ready for a tough fight from Scott – he’s on a big winning streak and with his judo background I’ll expect him to bring the pressure and heat, but I’m ready.”

“We’re seeing a real surge in Welsh talent at the moment that makes it such an exciting territory for Cage Warriors,” says the promotion’s President Graham Boylan.

“Shore vs Malone for the title is a huge main event. Jack has managed to assemble a Welsh fan base on a level we’ve never really seen before. Think Conor McGregor in Dublin – this is going to be massive.”

Blaenavon’s Mason Jones will put his undefeated record on the line against in what will be the toughest test of his career as he faces Donovan Desmae from Belgium.
