Runners have a cracking new race to look forward to in 2017 with the launch of the Royal Welsh Trail Running Festival.
The festival will take place at the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells on Sunday 21st May 2017 – with something for everyone.
A series of challenging but scenic trail routes will be available, set in the valleys, fields and stunning forestry surrounding the showground.
Runners can take part in Half Marathon and 10k distances as well as a 3km Family Fun Trail and Toddlers Challenge.
Expect a range of trails, woodland tracks and farmland – crossing through valleys and stunning forestry with views of the iconic Royal Welsh Showground below.
With Half Marathon and 10k races on offer for the more accomplished trail runners, there is also the 3k Family Trail for those looking to have a go and the Toddler Trail for the youngest of competitors.
Every runner will receive a bespoke wooden finishers medal and unique technical t-shirt – a perfect memento to celebrate your achievements on the trails!
Once the running is over, the Spring Festival, which draws over 20,000 visitors, will offer participants plenty of family fun .
There will be a food and drink quarter (perfect for post-race refueling), trade stands and an action-packed programme of entertainment, activities, free workshops and main ring performances.
Registration is now open, priced at just £20 for the Half Marathon and £15 for the 10k.
Entry includes a technical race t-shirt, bespoke wooden finishers medal and entry into the Spring Festival (worth £15).
Family trail prices start from £5 and also include access to the Spring Festival.
