Rosie Eccles made a winning return to the ring at the Bocskai Memorial Tournament in Hungary.
The Caldicot welterweight fighter beat Italy’s Angela Carini by split decision in Debrecen.
Eccles was competing for the first time since being narrowly defeated by seeded Russian Saadat Dalgatova in last March’s Olympic qualifier in London which was ended after a few days due to COVID-19.
The 24-year-old dream of qualifying for this summer’s Olympics are not over yet.
Wales’ 2018 Commonwealth Games silver medallist can still reach Tokyo by earning selection for the second and final qualifying event due to take place in early summer but which is yet to be confirmed.
Wales’ world champ Lauren Price will also be in action for GB Boxing in this week’s tournament in Hungary which is being held under COVID-19 secure conditions.
The 26-year-old has not fought since winning the world middleweight title in Russia in October 2019.
Price was selected to compete at the Boxing Road to Tokyo Olympic qualifier in London but the event was halted before she boxed.
