It might be Osian Pryce’s small local event, and he might be seeded at number four in the expert class, but this Saturday’s Rali Dyffryn Twymyn will be something completely different for him and co-driver Dale Furniss, as they tackle the rally in their Fiesta ST.
The Dovey Valley Motor Club organised event will start and finish in Machynlleth and consist of a compact route of 55 miles, where over 35% of the total mileage will be competitive.
All the driving skills tests and challenges will take place on private land, and it’s a big social event too, with a post-event party and hog roast to end the day. This is the third running of the Rali Dyffryn Twymyn, and it’s attracted a strong 74-car field.
“Rali Dyffryn Twymyn is my local Targa Rally, it’s great fun and there was no way I was going to miss it,” said Pryce. “It’s a little bit out of my comfort zone, insofar as there are various driving skills tests on private land – you can get up to a bit of speed, but there are lots of other challenges along the way too. It will also be fun to be out in my Fiesta ST again. It’s a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon, rallying in mid-Wales, followed by an after rally party – what more would you want?!”
