Oliva Retains Title

Lewis Oliva celebrated his Commonwealth Games call-up by defending his keirin title at the National Track Championships.

The 25-year-old held off the challenge of Joe Truman to retain the title in Manchester in a thrilling finish.

Alex Jolliffe took the bronze medal.

Oliva’s victory came just days after he was named in the Team Wales squad for the Commonwealth Games on Australia’s Gold Coast in April.

Cardiff-based Oliva, a medical student, claimed keirin bronze in the final World Cup meeting in Minsk earlier in January.
