Newport County jumped to fifth in the League Two table, but they are still refusing to think about that dream FA Cup tie against Spurs at home.
The most important fixture now for manager Michael Flynn and his teams is against Morecambe at Rodney Parade next Tuesday – and the test against Harry Kane and Co will not be discussed.
Goals from Padraig Amond, his ninth of the season, and Mickey Demetriou, from a penalty, earned County a 2-1 win against Harry Kewell’s Crawley Town at home.
The former Liverpool player had led Crawley to three successive wins, but their mini-run of success was ended by the Exiles.
Crawley included ex-Cardiff City and Merthyr Town defender Josh Yorwerth, while Newport made two changes from his starting line-up for the win at Grimsby Town.
Joss Labadie and Matty Dolan were ruled out by hamstring strains with Josh Sheehan and man of the match Ben Tozer stepping up.
Emmanuel Osadebe, County’s new midfield loan signing from Cambridge United, was not in the squad for the clash with Crawley.
The 21-year-old joined Cambridge from Gillingham, but has been unable to earn a regular first team place.
There were almost 6,000 spectators at Rodney Parade and Newport sent their fans home happy.
Former Newport manager Warren Feeney is Kewell’s assistant at Sussex club and they are intent on helping Crawley climb the table, but Newport are full of fire right now.

Crawley pulled a goal back when goalkeeper Joe Day dropped the ball when he tried to claim a cross and Crawley captain Jimmy Smith was able to score his fifth goal of the season.
