Ruby Allen has retained her British Open Class II Women’s Senior all-around title following a stellar performance at the 2023 Disability British Artistic Championships.
She also took gold on beam, silver on uneven bars and floor, while also picking up bronze on vault.
The Neath Afan Gymnastics Club gymnast earned her title last weekend at Lilleshall National Sports Centre.
The event, which saw 60 junior and senior gymnasts from across the country take to the competition floor across the men’s and women’s artistic disciplines, was a showcase of talent from British gymnasts.

Ruby’s final score of 45.450 landed her at the top of the podium.
“It feels amazing,” she said.
“It’s been such an incredible competition. My favourite apparatus of the day was the beam as I achieved a clean performance. It’s been great to have such a supportive atmosphere here at Lilleshall.”
Talking about what it’s like to train at Neath Afan Gymnastics Club, Ruby added: “It’s great.
“We’re just like one big family. I love training there with all my friends, everyone is so supportive there.”
Fusion Gymnastics Wales’ Kieron Innes also returned home with a hat-trick of silver medals for all-around, parallel bars and vault in the Open Class II Men’s Senior competition.
