Merthyr Town are aiming for a return to winning ways when they play Slough Town at the Loadlok Community Stadium this evening (Tuesday, 7.45pm).
Manager Gavin Williams will demand a big reaction from his players after the Martyrs were thumped 5-0 by Southern League leaders Kettering Town.
That ended a run of three successive wins and Merthyr badly need to bounce back when they take on hot-shots Slough, who are Premier Division top scored with 31 goals in 10 fixtures.
Chris Flood is top scorer with eight, while James Dobson has netted seven times.
Slough will go top of the table if they win against Merthyr and current leaders Kettering falter against Biggleswade Town away.
They are also through to the FA Cup fourth qualifying and play Bostik Premier Division club Folkestone Invicta this Saturday.
Merthyr will again be without striker Stuart Fleetwood, who completes his three-match suspension and will be available for Saturday’s home fixture against Gosport.
Mo Touray is likely to lead the Martyrs’ attack again in a 3-5-2 formation, although they did switch to a back four during the second half at Kettering when substitute Curtis McDonald went on and played at centre-forward.
Merthyr played better than the five-goal scoreline suggests at Kettering and need a healthy return of points from back-to-back home matches against Slough and Gosport.
Merthyr Town: Oliver Davies, Adam Davies, Cameron Pring, Ashley Evans, Jarrad Wright, Jay Bowen, Curtis McDonald, Kyle Patten, Mo Touray, Kerry Morgan, Eliot Richards, Ian Traylor, Scott Tancock, Corey Jenkins, Kyle Copp, Robbie Patten.
