Halloween night in Glasgow and it was the masked men who stole the show at both ends of the ice.
Devils started on the back foot and relied on a big period from Ben Bowns in goal to weather the storm from the Clan in the opening 20 minutes.
Glasgow outshot the Devils 15-8, but Bowns was in form and kept the score tied 0-0 after the first period.
Devils got back to playing their game and took control in the middle period with lengthy periods of sustained pressure in the Glasgow zone, but Joel Rumpel, in net for Clan, kept Cardiff at bay.
The lone goal of the period gave Devils a 1-0 thanks to Stephen Dixon, who finally snuck the puck past Rumpel at 26-32 with linemates Mike Hedden and Charlie Linglet picking up the assists.
In the final period had two chances with the man advantage, but the Clan’s penalty killing, keeping the league’s best powerplay scoreless on four attempts.
Bowns finished with 27 saves for the shutout win, his first of the season. At the other end, Rumpel made 24 saves in the loss, and the two netminders men of the match.
Devils play 10 League fixtures during November and six of those are at the Viola Arena in Cardiff Bay.
