Jamie Lewis continued his storming run at the PDC World Darts Championships as he booked a quarter-final spot.
The qualifier from Cardigan overcome losing the first set to beat James Richardson 4-1 at London’s Alexandra Palace.
Lewis, who dumped No 2 seed Peter Wright out in the previous round on Wednesday, will now face 23rd seed Darren Webster.
The 26-year-old said: “I’m absolutely over the moon. It was so tough to get through that game as I didn’t play as well as yesterday.
“I wasn’t feeling that great today backstage but luckily I got there in the end and started to play the darts that I know I can play.
“I’ve got to keep it going.
“Darren is a very good player, it will be a good game and I’ve got to play well. It hasn’t really sunk in but I’m still going so happy days.”
Lewis produced a 170 checkout in the first leg of the third set as he moved ahead.
Then in the fourth set back-to-back 12 and 10-dart legs secured a 3-1 advantage.
Lewis took out double five to seal the 4-1 win repeating the scoreline from his victory over ‘Snakebite’ Wright.
