Joel Makin will lead the Welsh Squash team into battle at the 25th World Team Championships in Marseille from November 27 to December 3.
Joining the Welsh number one player, who is world-ranked 42, will be Peter Creed, Emyr Evans and David Haley. The squad will be supported by head coach, David Evans, and performance analyst, Dominic Turnbull.
“It’s been a number of years since the Welsh men’s team has competed in this tournament, but with the squad we have, I’m now confident we can expect some great results from them,” said Evans.
Welsh squad is on something of a high at the moment with a record 16 players – eight men, eight women – currently playing on the Professional Squash Association world tour.
Iraq and Jamaica will make their debuts at the biennial tournament, which was cancelled in 2015 in Egypt. That leaves England as the reigning champions following their success in 2013.
