Jamie Fires Goal Double In Bluebirds Fightback

Jamie Waite led the charge for Cardiff City in a dramatic comeback against Charlton Athletic in the Professional Development League.

The young Bluebirds were trailing 3-1 with 14 minutes left at Sparrows Lane in New Eltham, but they fought back to head home with a hard-earned 3-3 draw.

Teenage midfield player Jamie Waite scored twice, including the equaliser after 86 minutes, and Mark Harris was also on target with Cardiff’s second on 76 minutes.

Reeco Hackett-Fairchild, a 19-year-old former Dulwich Hamlet and Dagenham player, has scored three goals in two matches against Welsh opposition for Charlton.

He scored in Charlton’s Checkatrade Trophy against Swansea City before firing past Cardiff goalkeeper Lee Camp twice.

Reece-Fairchild rounded Camp for the first and glanced in a Jamie Mascoll free-kick for his second before Waite replied.

Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu netted Charlton’s third before goals by Harris and Waite ensured the Bluebirds earned a draw.
