Grant Bradburn has been dismissed as Glamorgan’s head coach with immediate effect, following a recent charge of misconduct brought by the independent Cricket Regulator.

The 58-year-old was referred to the regulator by the club after allegations of inappropriate behaviour were made against him.

The Welsh county have not specified further details around the behaviour but in a statement, Glamorgan asserted that they were “confident a fair and transparent process has been followed in this case.”

The club emphasised its commitment to a “zero-tolerance policy towards discriminatory behavior of any kind.”

After conducting an internal investigation, Glamorgan concluded that Bradburn’s position was no longer tenable and stated that they are now offering support to those impacted by the matter.

“At Glamorgan we put the well-being of our people first and are providing support for those affected,” said club chair Mark Rhydderch-Roberts.

“We’re incredibly proud of our track record in terms of making sure everyone who is involved with the club feel they are respected, belong and are treated fairly.”

Bradburn’s tenure at Glamorgan lasted just one season, during which he led the team to victory in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup in a rain-affected final at Trent Bridge in September.

The team also finished sixth in both the County Championship’s second division and the T20 Blast South Group.

He had joined Glamorgan in January on a three-year contract after a brief spell as head coach of Pakistan’s men’s team.

Previously, Bradburn had joined the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as an assistant coach in 2018 and was later appointed head of high-performance coaching in 2020.
