Hot on the heels of Ffos Las’s 15th birthday celebration on Sunday, the Welsh track hosts a midweek six-race evening card to keep the action rolling in.

Racing gets underway in the Burry Port RNLI 200 Year Celebration Racenight at 6.20pm with the 1m2f handicap in class six before rounding off at 8.50 as seven runners take on the class five handicap.

The opener (6.20) sees a small field of six head to the start for the class six handicap and in a low-key start to the card, Private Bryan is the preference to make a winning return having got off the mark at Kempton five months ago for trainer Ed De Giles.

Caramary rates the main danger, a winner at Windsor in May who has taken her form up a level this season.

Race two on the Ffos Las card (6.50) has a bigger field of ten contesting the class four novice stakes over the seven furlong trip.

Manila Thriller holds strong claims here having won a 12-runner selling contest at Chester on her last spin and hasn’t been penalised by the handicapper for that success for trainer Jack Channon.

The two-year-old gets the nod ahead of Enigmatic Princess, who was anything but enigmatic when a good second at Haydock on her debut spin last month.

Trainer Rod Millman’s yard and in decent nick at the moment and it could be worth chancing Silent Flame in the class six handicap, race four on the card, at 7.20 with the six-year-old having won on her only previous visit to Ffos Las.

Of her rivals, Aces Wild could be one to keep an eye on off the back of a respectable fifth in a Hamilton contest a fortnight ago, not beaten by much.

Doha Bu Thalia looks the one to beat in race five on the card (7.50), a six furlong handicap in class six for three-year-old’s.

Amy Murphy’s runner wears cheekpieces for the first time of a fine third of nine in a Yarmouth handicap two weeks ago and the drop to six furlongs should help her to get the win ahead of Carmarthen, an excellent second ay Yarmouth last time out who has been well-treated here in the weights to go one better.

The penultimate race of Wednesday’s meeting sees seven runners head to the starting stalls for the classified stakes over a mile (8.20) with preference for Dappled Light in what looks a tricky race to unpick but the four-year-old’s form stacks up, a course and distance second on last weekend’s card and a second at Chepstow prior to that.

Finally, the card comes to a close at 8.50 as seven runners tackle the one mile handicap in class five.

Irish raider Currumbin, for trainer John O’Donoghue, is very lightly-raced in this sphere and was a good second at Killarney in Ireland last time out so holds strong claims over this side of the Irish Sea.

Lady Flora has been upped to a mile having finished fourth of nine in a strong Sandown handicap last time out and rates the chief threat in the card closer.
