Tesni Evans got her US Open campaign off to a superb start as she beat Egypt’s Heba El Torky in Philadelphia.
The Cardiff-born ace took just 40 minutes to see off her opponent 11-6, 11-4, 17-15.
Evans, ranked 17 in the world, is seeded 15 for this tournament in the United States.
The 24-year-old, now based in Rhyl, will face No 2 seed Raneem El Welily in the second round.
