Tesni Evans became the first Welsh woman to reach the quarter-finals of a World series event with a superb victory in the Hong Kong Open.
The Cardiff-born player beat higher seeded Alison Waters 12/10, 12/10, 11/9 in her second round clash.
Evans, the world No 16, is seeded 14 for the event but saw off the No 8 seed in 44 minutes.
The 25-year-old’s reward in her historic last eight encounter is facing another English opponent in Laura Massaro.
Massaro is ranked No 4 in the world.
Evans, now based in Rhyl, beat Holland’s Milou van der Heijden 11/9, 11/9, 11/4 in the first round.
