Drew Paris and Joey Haddad both scored hat-tricks for Cardiff Devils during a 10-goal victory in Scotland.

Edinburgh Capitals defeated Belfast Giants away on Saturday, but they were overwhelmed by a Devils team who outshot their hosts 49-17.

Giants lost at home for the second successive night, going down 5-4 against MK Lightning, while second-placed Manchester Storm earned a ninth successive victory.

Devils scored five goals without reply during the first period in Edinburgh and powered to a convincing victory.

They now take on Sheffield Steelers away on Wednesday before going into a crunch clash with in-form Manchester away next Saturday.

Thomas Murdy replaced Ben Bowns in the Devils goal at the start of the second period in a convincing road performance.

Devils fired three powerplay goals, two of them by Paris, and restricted Caps to one goal in five PP opportunities.

Andrew Lord was on the bench for Devils, while Mark Louis and Craig Moore did not ice.

Cardiff now have 11 matches left in their chase to win the League title for a second successive season and their next three fixtures are crunch match-ups against Steelers, Storm and Giants.

The next home match for Devils is against Belfast at Ice Arena Wales on Sunday, February 25 (6pm).

Belfast were left stunned for a second night in a row after a late winner from Francis Verreault-Paul secured a hard fought 5-4 win for Milton Keynes Lightning.

Giants lost 4-2 at home against Edinburgh on Saturday and they lost again when Verreault-Paul’s strike 38 seconds from the end earned Lightning victory.

Sheffield Steelers fought back from 3-0 down to beat Coventry in overtime.

Matt Marquardt made it 3-3 by scoring in the 53rd minute and he then netted the overtime winner against his former club.

Second-placed Manchester extended their winning streak to nine games, but needed overtime and a shootout to get past Guildford 4-3.

Fife Flyers won 7-6 against Dundee Stars after overtime and the two points earned clinched the Gardiner Conference championship.
