No fewer than five Welsh athletes have made the 40-strong British team to compete at the European Cross Country Championships in Samorin, Slovakia on Sunday, 10 December.
Leading the way will be Dewi Griffiths in the senior men’s race, while Melissa Courtney is included in the Mixed Relay squad that will compete for the first time.
Griffiths’ Swansea Harriers clubmate Cari Hughes, who took part in the World Cross Country Championships earlier in the year, is included in the Junior Women’s team.
European Junior 1500 metre champion Jake Heyward is joined by North Wallian Matthew Willis in the six-strong Junior Men’s squad.
