Davies looking to get his World Superbikes title hopes back on track in Germany

Davies Not Looking For Home Help In Title Bid

Chaz Davies is not looking to home comforts to boost his bid for World Superbikes title glory at Donington Park this weekend.

The Knighton-born rider grabbed a double podium with two third places in last year’s British round at the track.

But Davies finished behind the Kawasaki duo of Tom Sykes and Jonathan Rea each time and knows this year’s race should be just as difficult.

The 29-year-old trails Rea by 42 points while he is 28 points ahead of Huddersfield-born rival Sykes who has won the last six races at the Leicestershire track.

Ducati hope Davies said: “It’s always nice to see everybody and ride in front of my family and friends.

“But on the other hand it’s just another race and it’s important not to get too carried away and to maintain the same approach.

“Our goal is, as usual, to be competitive from the very first session and keep improving throughout the weekend to finish in front.

“It won’t be easy to beat the competition, especially Sykes, but last year we already made a step in the right direction after a difficult 2014.
