Dan Salmon, one of the golden heroes of Team Wales’ record medal haul at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games last year, will be the headline act when Wales hosts the 2019 Atlantic Championships.
Salmon partnered Marc Wyatt to win the Commonwealth crown in the men’s pairs and he has been selected for that event with another member of Team Wales in Australia, Ross Owen, the reigning Welsh Indoor champion.
Salmon will also compete in the men’s singles, while Owen will also feature in the fours.
The Atlantic Championships take place every four years and are a qualifier for the World Championships, which will be held in Australia in 2020. The last tournament was held in Cyprus in 2015.
The event will take place across four clubs in south Wales between 10-23 May. Many of the world’s greatest players will battle it out for major titles and medals at Barry Athletic, Dinas Powys, Penarth Windsor and Penylan.
