Devils D-men struck gold in Manchester. They scored all five of Devils goals in their Elite League overtime victory against Storm.
Gleason Fournier and Bryce Reddick both scored twice and newcomer Drew Schiestel netted his first as a Devil for the overtime win.
Schiestel pounced on a rebound after a shot by Joey Martin to beat goalie Matt Ginn and win the game for Devils two minutes into the extra period.
The win keeps Devils second in the table, tucked in behind Belfast Giants with a game in hand. Head coach Andrew Lord and his team are at home against Milton Keynes Lightning at the Viola Arena in Cardiff Bay on Sunday (6pm).
They have won four successive League matches and are playing with confidence.
Fournier scored on the opening shift of the game, beating Ginn after only 32 seconds with Martin drawing the lone assist. Luke Moffatt tied the game at three minutes six seconds, but just over three minutes later, Martin set up Fournier for his second goal to give the Devils a 2-1 lead (6-43).
The teams were level at 2-2 going in to the second after Storm forward Mike Hammond scored on a powerplay.
Just over five minutes into the middle period Reddick scored a powerplay goal with Mike Hedden and Joey Haddad picking up assists on the go-ahead goal timed at 25-16.
Devils held the 3-2 lead into the period break, but two minutes into the third, Hammond scored his second of the night, again on a powerplay to tie the game 3-3.
Storm went ahead for the first time another powerplay goal, this time from Ciaran Long to go in front 4-3 with just over 13 minutes to play.
Devils tied it up at 53-35 with a rocket from Reddick, again on a powerplay, with Haddad and Hedden setting him up for his second.
It was 4-4 after regulation time and the teams traded chances in the 3 on 3 overtime period, but eventually it was the newest Devil, Schiestel, who scored the game winner.
