Jess Roberts saw her unbeaten run at the OVO Energy Tour series ended after she was beaten into second place in Durham.
The Carmarthen-born rider was competing for the fourth time in little over a week having triumphed in the previous rounds in Redditch, Motherwell and Aberdeen.
But on the cobbles in the cathedral city she had to accept the runners-up spot crossing the line just over 17 secs adrift of Anna Henderson.
Pontyclun’s Elynor Backstedt was 15th.
But British Road Race Champ Roberts still leads the Eisberg Sprints jersey for Team Breeze, 16 points ahead of Campinense Velo Performance’s Jo Tindley.
In the men’s race Newport’s Jon Mould was third 17 secs adrift of Madison Genesis team-mate Joey Walker whoo took his maiden victory in the series.
