Peter Creed bagged the eighth Tour title of his career with victory in the Saskatoon Open in Canada.
The Caerphilly-born player lived up to his No 1 seeing with victory over Switzerland’s Reiko Peter in the final.
Creed, number 63 on the latest world rankings, triumphed 11-9, 11-7, 11-4.
The 30-year-old’s toughest match came in the semi-finals against Canada’s No 4 seed Shawn Delierre which turned into a five game thriller.
Creed edged it 6-11, 11-6, 11-8, 6-11, 11-6.
In the quarter-finals, he had beaten Eric Galvez 3-0, having come through his first round match against Ireland’s Sean Conroy by the same margin.
