CAVC Cardiff Bay Run 10K Sold Out

The Cardiff and Vale College Cardiff Bay Run 10K has officially sold out!

Race entries have officially closed with one month to go until the new-look race around Cardiff’s historic Bay.

The 10km race will see more than 6,000 runners take-on the revamped course on Sunday April 2nd, making it the second largest race in Wales. Only October’s Cardiff University Cardiff Half Marathon will see more runners hit the streets of the Welsh capital.

Previously known as the Cardiff Bay 5 Mile, the race is back by popular demand, but with a stunning new 10k course. The route takes in all of Cardiff Bay’s most iconic landmarks, starting and finishing in Roald Dahl Plass and passing the Wales Millennium Centre, Mermaid Quay, the Pierhead Building, Senedd, Porth Teigr and the Cardiff Bay Barrage.

It’s a perfect challenge for elite and club athletes as well as those looking to keep fit, raise money for charity or take on the challenge of their first event.

Run 4 Wales Chief Executive Matt Newman commented: “We are delighted to have sold all 6,000 entries to the 10km race with over a month to go until the Cardiff and Vale College Cardiff Bay Run.

“We cannot wait to extend a warm Welsh welcome to all those who have made the race the second biggest in Wales.

“The course not only boasts stunning views of Cardiff Bay, but the flat route offers participants the chance to break their personal records over 10km, these have been huge selling points. Plus having Cardiff and Vale College on board as a Title Partner has been fantastic for the event.

“We’ve been blown away by the interest in the race – from elite and club athletes looking for a fast time right through to beginners looking to improve their fitness or raise money for charity.”

A limited number of on-the-day entries for the 2K Family Fun Run will be available in the race village on the morning of the event, but sign up on our website, www.cardiffbayrun.co.uk for only £5 or £15 for a family of four to avoid disappointment.

Cardiff Bay Run have teamed up with Cystic Fibrosis Trust as charity partner once again in 2017.

The CF Trust invite you to join them on the day to run with Team CF. Running with Team CF will help make a difference for thousands of people with cystic fibrosis in the UK, and their families and carers.

Finishers will also receive a medal from the same designer who produces the medals for the Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon, London Marathon and Berlin Marathon has worked on the unique design of the Cardiff and Vale College Cardiff Bay Run medal.
