Ben Turner has joined Championship new-boys Burton Albion following his release by Cardiff City.
The centre-back, whose last couple of seasons with the Bluebirds had been hit by injury, has agreed a one-year deal.
“He’s a good, experienced centre-half and someone we have admired for a few years,” Brewers boss Nigel Clough told the club’s official website.
“We have got good character references back as well from a few people we respect.
“He has Premier League experience with Cardiff as well. He knows all about the Championship and will be a good asset.”
The 28-year-old made just 14 appearances in his last two seasons with Cardiff after a series of injuries and operations.
He played just one games last season for Russell Slade’s side though did have five games on loan at old club Coventry in League One.
