Craig Bellamy’s young Bluebirds continue their Welsh Youth Under-19 Cup adventure at Cardiff International Sports Campus on Sunday (2pm).
Cardiff City play Merthyr Town in the second round, while cup holders Swansea City are away against Garden Village.
TNS are at home against Llandudno, while Bangor City travel to Cefn Druids.
Swansea were given a bye to this stage of the competition, while Cardiff won 4-1 after extra time against Ely Rangers.
Bellamy’s boys had to work hard for their victory and hit back from a goal down to win thanks to goals from Camern Coxe (2) and James Waite (2).
Cardiff moved their Under-18 Professional Development League match against Colchester to midweek, avoiding a clash with their Welsh Cup tie against the Martyrs.
Isaak Davies, Sion Spence (penalty) and Kieron Evans scored in a 3-0 victory for the Bluebirds at Cardiff Campus.
They made a strong start, dominating possession and went close after 16 minutes when Sam Parsons crossed for Davies who was unable to connect properly in front of goal. The ball arrived at the feet of Connor Davies who fired against a post with a first-time strike.
The home side were in control and took the lead before the break. Spence crossed from the left across the face of goal and Davies fired home.
Cardiff were awarded a penalty when Spence was fouled as he went through on goal. It was Spence who scored from the spot after 51 minutes.
Eight minutes later, the Bluebirds extended their lead to 3-0 when Spence assisted Kieron Evans, who went one-on-one with the goalkeeper and poked the ball into the bottom right corner.
Colchester finished the match in spirited style and forced a number of strong dave from goalkeeper George Ratcliffe, who kept a clean sheet.
