Jordan Cotterill struck a decisive blow for Welsh League leaders Barry Town United at Jenner Park.

Man of the match Cotterill fired the only goal of the match against Cambrian and Clydach.

Barry Town stand top of Division One and within reach of promotion to Welsh Premier League football, but they face a major test against Haverfordwest County at home on Tuesday.

West Wales club Haverfordwest are not putting themselves forward to go up, but they are intent on winning a trophy double.

County are three points behind Barry having played the same number of fixtures, while they are also through to the Nathaniel League Cup semi-finals where they play Bridgend Street at Penybont on Tuesday, April 4 (7.30pm).

Haverfordwest, though, will be focused on their title chase when they visit Jenner Park on Tuesday (7.30pm).

Cotterill’s second half goal kept Barry on course to maintain their promotion bid and they must finish in the top two to achieve their dream.

But they face a major test against Haverfordwest with both teams intent on pressing ahead with their own targets.

County had a mixed day last Caldicot Town when they won 3-2, but then discovered both home and away changing rooms had been broken into during the match.

The scorers for Haverfordwest at Jubilee Way were Sean Pemberton (30 mins), Nicky Palmer (48) and Lee Hudgell (82).

There are three Welsh League First Division fixtures on Tuesday and they are: Afan Lido v Caerau Ely, Barry v Haverfordwest, Port Talbot Town v Risca United (all 7.30pm).

Llanelli are still unbeaten in Welsh League Division Two, having won 16 and drawn four of their 20 matches. Their latest victory was 5-2 against Dinas Powys at Stebonheath Park.

Former Swansea City striker Lee Trundle led the way with a hat-trick, taking his goals tally for the season to 40 in 20 matches. James Loveridge and Joe Clarke were the other Llanelli scorers.

Llanelli are also through to the Nathaniel League Cup semi-finals and play Caerau Ely at Afan Lido on Wednesday, April 5 (7.30pm).
