Barry Town Duo Nominated For Welsh Premier Awards

Barry Town manager Gavin Chesterfield and striker Modou Touray have been nominated for the JD Welsh Premier League’s Manager and Player of the Month awards.

The duo are nominees to win the September awards after Barry climbed to third in the table and are just two points off the top of the table.

Chesterfield guided Barry to four wins from five matches last month, which included a victory over current league leaders Connah’s Quay.

Momodou Touray has featured heavily since joining the club on loan from Newport County last summer and has impressed alongside Kayne McClaggon.

Chesterfield is in competition with Connah’s Quay’s Andy Morrison and Newtown’s Chris Hughes.

Morrison, who claimed August’s Manager of the Month award, has steered his Nomads team to the top of the Welsh Premier League table, while Hughes’ Newtown have climbed up to fifth spot following a month which the Robins picked up three wins.

Caernarofn Town’s Jamie Breese, Newtown’s Neil Mitchell and Callum Morris, who scored a hat-trick for Connah’s Quay against Llandudno last month, are also nominated.
