Andre Ayew is set to miss Swansea’s crunch Premier League clash with Aston Villa – and brother Jordan – on Saturday night.
The eight-goal Ghana ace has flown to France for treatment on an ankle problem which sidelined him from last Saturday’s 3-2 defeat at Bournemouth.
Coach Alan Curtis has admitted this weekend’s game with the bottom club is crucial with the Swans still on 33 points – eight points above the drop zone with eight games left.
Curtis, 61, said: “Andre turned his ankle against Norwich.
“He’s in France having it assessed. I don’t think it’s bad.
“He’s doubtful for next week but after that it’s the international break so hopefully by the time we play Stoke it should be all right.”
Curtis is due to hand back the managerial reins to Francesco Guidolin this week after the Italian missed the last three games with a chest problem.
