Australian Neil Robertson starts the second session of the ManBetX Welsh Open Snooker Championship final holding a 5-3 lead.
Robertson has the advantage in the clash with Stuart Bingham with the winner receiving £70,000 prize money and the Ray Reardon Trophy.
Both finalists are former Welsh Open and World Open champions.
Bingham had a torrid time during the first session at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena, missing a series of shots he would normally put comfortably.
But he finished on a high with a break of 102 in the final frame before the interval.
Robertson had beaten Bingham 5-0 and 6-0 in their two previous meetings and when he started strongly it seemed this final might go a similar way.
Bingham, though, fought back in style and gave himself a genuine chance in the second session which starts at 7pm.
The final is decided over the best of 17 frames.
