Andy Dibble has been appointed Cardiff City’s new goalkeeping coach by manager Neil Warnock.
Cwmbran-born Dibble, 51, has replaced Martyn Margetson, who has joined Premier League Crystal Palace to work under Sam Allardyce.
Dibble, who will coach Brian Murphy, Ben Amos and Ben Wilson at City, began his playing career with the Bluebirds in 1981, signing apprentice forms, and turned professional a year later.
He made his debut on his 17th birthday during a 1-0 defeat against Palace.
He established himself as Cardiff’s number one goalkeeper, helping the club earn promotion and missing only one league match.
Dibble also played for Manchester City, Aberdeen, Rangers, Luton, Huddersfield, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, West Brom, Sheffield United, Hartlepool, Carlisle, Stockport and Wrexham during a career which last 24 years.
Former Wales international Dibble worked with Warnock at Rotherham last season and has left the Yorkshire club to join Cardiff.
Margetson, 44, has moved to Palace, who say he will continue to be England’s goalkeeping coach.

It has been confirmed that Warnock is keen to sign Aberdeen winger Jonny Hayes, a Republic of Ireland international.
He helped Aberdeen win the Scottish League Cup in 2014 and finish as Scottish Premier League runners-up twice.
Cardiff have not yet made a formal bid for Hayes, who started his career at Reading and has also played at Leicester City and Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
He has scored 51 goals in more than 300 first team appearances during his career.
Cardiff City take on Bristol City away this Saturday and then have a run if five matches in 15 days. They are against Burton Albion (home, Saturday, January 21), Brighton (away, Saturday, January 24), Reading (away, Saturday, January 28), Preston North End (home, Tuesday, January 31) and Norwich City (home, Saturday, February 4).
Cardiff are likely to have a full strength squad available, while Bristol City will be without Korey Smith and former Cardiff full-back Adam Matthews. Both have hamstring injuries.
Goalkeeper Frank Fielding, who has had a groin injury, and ex-Bluebirds midfield player Gary O’Neill (calf) are both rated 50-40.
Richard O’Donnell replaced Fielding in the last game and is standing by to deputise again should the former Blackburn and Derby keeper fail a fitness test, while experienced Mark Little deputised for Matthews at right-back and is expected to retain his place against Cardiff.
The Bluebirds have rearranged their away match at Brighton, originally scheduled for December 30, on Tuesday, January 24 (7.45pm).
