Cardiff Met and Aberystwyth Town head into their Easter weekend clash with their Welsh Premier League play-off hopes on the line.
Both clubs are vying for seventh-spot in the penultimate round fixtures, but it’s the students who currently hold the advantage with a two-point lead.
Aberystwyth are enjoying a five-game unbeaten stretch but must avoid defeat on Saturday to keep their play-off aspirations intact.
“They’re a difficult team to play against, but we’re really looking forward to the challenge,” said Aberystwyth boss Matthew Bishop.
“Christian [Edwards] has done a great job at Cardiff Met. He’s very shrewd and has great experience in the game from his playing days which he has brought into management with him.
“He has forged a way of playing there which is successful, they’ve got some great players, they’re very fit, they train on a regular basis, and they’ve got some great facilities and resources.
“No team wants to lose, and whoever wins is probably going to get that play-off spot, so it’ll be interesting to see how both teams approach it and I think we’re in for a great tactical battle between us and them.”
Bala Town travel to Newtown today looking to snap a run of four defeats (2.30). The Lakesiders have won just once since the mid-season split and are desperate to rediscover their form prior to entering the play-offs.
Hosts Newtown also need to return to winning ways to have any hope finishing fourth ahead of Caernarfon.
Caernarfon could clinch fourth-place and secure home advantage in the play-offs should they inflict a rare defeat onto newly crowned champions The New Saints on Saturday evening at Park Hall.
Connah’s Quay entertain Barry Town United after their win last weekend saw the Nomads set a club record points tally.
Cefn Druids can extend their unbeaten run to seven WPL matches if they can see off Carmarthen Town.
Relegated duo Llanelli and Llandudno face each other at Stebonheath.
