Cardiff City have suffered a significant setback ahead of their trip to Derby County on Saturday, with Aaron Ramsey ruled out due to injury.
The midfielder sustained a hamstring injury while on international duty with Wales and will miss the match at Pride Park this weekend.
Bluebirds manager Erol Bulut insisted no specific timeline has been given for Ramsey’s return, but it is another injury blow for the former Arsenal star, who spent much of last season sidelined with a knee injury.
“We’ll miss him for the Derby game,” Bulut stated.
“He played 20 minutes in the last national game against Montenegro and felt something in his hamstring. He needs a bit of time now.”

Bulut added that the extent of Ramsey’s injury is still unclear and added: “I hope it’s nothing serious, but we’ll have to wait for the full medical report. He won’t be with us on Saturday.”
Cardiff will also be without Norwegian defender Jesper Daland as they continue their search for their first Championship win of the season.
Daland, a summer signing from Cercle Bruges, was initially called up for Norway’s Nations League matches against Kazakhstan and Austria but had to withdraw due to an injury sustained during Cardiff’s 2-0 home defeat to Middlesbrough on August 31.

Bulut provided an update, saying, “He didn’t join the Norway squad because he’s still wearing a boot due to his leg injury from the last game. He’ll be out of the boot by Friday, and then he can begin light training. Hopefully, he’ll be back in full training soon.”
There is better news for Cardiff regarding captain Joe Ralls, who is expected to be available for the match after recovering from hip and groin injuries.
“Joe Ralls trained with us and will be available,” Bulut confirmed. “As captain, he’s a leader both on and off the pitch. It’s always a boost to have him back in the team.”
Ralls had missed two recent games due to his injuries but has now returned to full training ahead of Saturday’s clash.
