Welsh Teenager Carter Shines In Fire And The Jets

Cardiff Fire were blown away by the Jets in a National Ice Hockey League clash at the Viola Arena in Cardiff Bay.

South One leaders Slough Jets scored six goals against Fire for the second time this season.

They defeated Fire 6-1 at home and repeated that scoreline in South Wales.

Welshman Carter Jaice-Lloyd, aged 18, scored for the home team and was voted man of the match.

Former Great Britain under-16 international Jaice-Lloyd netted an outstanding goal to lift Fire.

Czech under-20 international Sean Norris and England under-18 International Samuel Talbot scored two goals each.

Fire now have three successive away fixtures – against Bracknell, Streatham and Solent – before back-to-back home matches against Bracknell Hornets (Sunday, October 20) and Chelmsford Chieftains  (Saturday, October 26).

Cardiff Fire’s second team were edged out 3-2 at Swindon Wildcats after picking up 53 minutes in penalties. Ross Wilkinson was thrown out during the last three minutes for fighting.
