Glasgow Clan 2, Cardiff Devils 4
Cardiff Devils powered to victory in Scotland and stand four matches away from securing a third successive Elite League title.
Devils extended their lead at the top to four points over Belfast with a two-goal win in Glasgow.
The lone goal of the opening period came with one minute 14 seconds left as man of the match Mike Hedden tipped Bryce Reddick’s shot past goalie Joel Rumpel.
Cardiff doubled their lead 48 seconds into the second Devils when Stephen Dixon scored before Drew Schiestel, at 24:07, went down the wing and beat Rumpel with a quick wrist-shot.
Three goals for the visitors in just over five minutes of elapsed game time.
Clan hit back when a perfect pass across the crease from Scott Pitt found Matt Beca, who tapped home at the far post on 32-13.
Before the period was done, though, Devils were back to a three-goal lead when Dixon pounced on the rebound to Hedden’s shot with 3-36 left in the second.
Clan recovered again when Pitt scored (44-11) before Devils closed out the match.
Layne Ulmer was recalled to the Devils line-up after missing the last two fixtures because his wife gave birth to their second child.
