Martyrs Head To Hampshire For FA Trophy Clash With ‘Boro

Merthyr Town go to Farnborough aiming to make progress in the Buildbase FA Trophy on Saturday.

The Martyrs travel to play the Hampshire outfit in a first qualifying round tie with £3,250 prize money for the winners.

Manager Gavin Williams and his Merthyr players put their bid to maintain a play-offs challenge in the EvoStik Southern League Premier out of their minds to focus on the trophy.

Hosts Farnborough were promoted to the Premier in 2016-17, finishing second in Division One Central and going up via the play-offs.

‘All Together Martyrs FC’ play South Wales Police at Penydarren Park on Sunday (5.30pm).

They defeated Egham Town 4-0 and Barton Rovers 2-0.

While the first team head to Surrey, ‘All Together Martyrs FC’ are preparing for their match against South Wales Police FC at the MetCoaches Stadium (Penydarren Park, 5.30pm).

The teenager has been progressing through the Merthyr Town youth development system and the Martyrs tweeted: “A real pleasure to coach and a credit to @PenydrePE & @daidaviesboxer well done TeeJay.
