Melissa Courtney capped her incredible season with third place in the prestigious 5th Avenue Mile in New York.
The Poole AC runner broke her personal best to clock four minutes 20.2 secs in the street race.
Courtney came home behind the American duo of Jenny Simpson, who won the race for the sixth time in a row and seventh in all, in 4:18.8 and Colleen Quigley in 4:19.2.

Courtney’s display ended a season which brought her Commonwealth Games 1500m bronze on Australia’s Gold Coast in April.
The 25-year-old also set Welsh records over 3000m in Birmingham and 5000metres at the European Championships in Berlin in August.
Britain’s Jake Wightman claimed his first New Balance 5th Avenue Mile victory in the men’s race with a time of 3:55.3.
