Daniel Griffiths and Jacob Davies scored second half goals for Cardiff City in their 2-0 Under-18 Professional Development League match against Barnsley away.
Goalkeeper George Ratcliffe kept a third clean sheet in three matches and the young Bluebirds, coached by Craig Bellamy, have earned a hat-trick of wins.
They have scored eight goals in those victories and now play Hull City at Cardiff International Sports Campus next Saturday.
That fixture will start at 11am, two and a half hours before manager Neil Warnock’s first team take on Arsenal in a Premier League clash at Cardiff City Stadium (1.30pm).
Cardiff went ahead against the Tykes at Barnsley Training Centre after 65 minutes when Sion Spence crossed from the left and Griffiths calmly tapped into the net.
That was a third goal of the season for Griffiths and he went close again when his header parried by goalkeeper Henry Kendrick. Jac Davies reacted first and volleyed the loose ball into goal to make it 2-0.
Keenan Patten fired over for Cardiff, Conor Davies saw his shot saved by Barnsley’s Kendrick and Griffiths feed just wide.
