Wales have two squash players through to the Commonwealth Games singles quarter-finals.
Pembrokeshire’s Joel Makin took just over half an hour to beat his Jamaican opponent and joins Cardiff-born Tesni Evans in going through to the last eight.
Welsh number one Makin won 11-4, 11-5, 11-2 against Jamaica’s Chris Binnie in 34 minutes and his next match for Makin will be against Australia’s Red Hedrick or Alan Clyne (Scotland).
Their last 16 tie is due on court on the Gold Coast in half an hour.
Evans is through to the Commonwealth Games women’s singles squash quarter-finals.
British champion Evans, 25, powered into the last eight thanks to a 3-1 win against Malaysian teenager Aifa Azman.
She now plays England’s former World number one Laura Massaro.
