Merthyr Town take on the Crows at their Garden Walk stadium in Hertfordshire this evening (Tuesday, 7.45pm).
Manager Steve Castle and his Crows – Royston Town – are ninth in EvoStik Southern League Premier Division and chasing hard for a place in the play-offs.
The Martyrs make the trip with renewed confidence after earning three successive wins and extending their unbeaten run to four matches.
Manager Gavin Williams has stabilised the Merthyr club and helped steer them through financial problems which led to some players leaving earlier this season.
Williams has a competitive squad who have stayed well clear of relegation danger, but they face a tough match at Royston, who returned to playing after a run of postponed matches.
They had gone three weeks without a match before winning 4-0 against Kings Langley in their latest fixture.
Adam Marriott (2), Rohdell Gordon and Daniel Braithwaite led Royston to a thumping victory.
Before that win the Crows had failed to score against Kings Langley away and Weymouth, the first time they had done that in successive matches this season.
“The lads were ready to burst into life,” said former Leyton Orient and Plymouth Argyle midfield player Castle. “The attitude of every single one of them was first class.”
