Stuart O’Keefe has left Cardiff City on loan. The former Crystal Palace midfield player has signed for League One Portsmouth on loan.
The move has been confirmed by sources at Cardiff City.
Pompey manager Kenny Jackett needed a midfield player to increase competition and O’Keefe has accepted the move.
He spent the second half of last season on loan at League One outfit MK Dons, scoring four times in 18 appearances.
Portsmouth won the League Two title last season and are looking for more success under former Swansea manager Jackett.
Cardiff are keen to lower their wage bill and two players, Declan John plus O’Keefe, have moved out on loan.
John has joined Rangers, while O’Keefe is heading to the South coast.
Craig Noone is wanted by Bolton Wanderers and the Bluebirds may pay part of his wages to enable him to make the move by 11pm when the transfer window closes.
Meanwhile, Wales midfielder Joe Ledley has been linked with a return to Cardiff as a free agent. Lesley was released by Crystal Palace over the summer and that deal does not necessarily have to be completed by tonight;s deadline because he is a free agent.
Warnock also has another potential midfield target and is working hard to ensure one of them joins Cardiff.
