Cardiff City have signed Scotland international defender Callum Paterson.
He is a third new signing for manager Neil Warnock following goalkeeper Neil Etheridge and winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing.
Paterson joins the Bluebirds on a free transfer at the end of his contract at Scottish club Hearts.
The move is confirmed subject to international clearance and he has agreed a contract through to the summer of 2020.
Paterson, a 22-year-old attacking full-back, made 150 first team appearances for Hearts and scored 38 goals in five years.
Upon his arrival at Cardiff City Stadium, Paterson spoke exclusively to iFollow Cardiff City in an interview which can be watched in full on the club’s official website.
“I’m absolutely delighted and buzzing to be part of this big Club,” he said.
“It’s nice and early so I’ve got a lot of time to bed in, get to know my way around the area and introduce myself. It’s great timing and I’m happy to be here.”
“Anyone that has watched me has seen that I like to attack. I’m athletic and I like to go forward and try and get on the end of crosses.
“I’m a great attacker and I like to score my goals, so hopefully I can come here and score a few too.”
